Transfers/LSU/Broken Things

Hello!
We had transfers last week, lots of changes here in Tuscaloosa! Sister Begay went to Bessemer, and now I have Sister Tunuufi here with me! Sister Tunuufi was born in Samoa, and raised in West Valley UT. Another Utah comp! She's adorable, and so much fun. This is her's, Sister Begay's AND Sister Terry's last transfer on the mission. I feel like all my people are leaving me! It's so weird.. 17 weeks till I'm home.

Funny mission lingo for ya. When your comp goes home, you "kill" them.  Sis. Tunuufi will be the 4th comp I've killed. Once you kill 3 you are an "assassin." She has also killed 3 comps, which means I am an assassin killing an assassin....  risky business we're in.

The UA vs. LSU game was WILD. Well from what it sounds like the game wasn't too cray, but Tuscaloosa was a jungle. You really have to experience it first hand to get the full effect. We were out among the sea of people all day. It's cool what the spirit can teach you, no matter what environment you're in, if you strive to keep him with you. Let me tell you, when you're out on game day, in the middle of all the tailgating and craziness, Mormon's stick out like a bright white diamond in a dark sea. We were people watching a bit on our way to the Ferguson Center to contact a more ruley crowd, when we spotted a guy wearing BYU gear! We followed him (creepily), and eventually we heard a "HEY SISTERS!!" Best sound ever. He and his buddies were visiting from West Valley and Colorado! It was fun to talk to them, and soak up a bit of home. We took a pic :) We ran into two more sets of members later too! It was so refreshing and nice to feel their light.

It made me think of Christ, when he ministered to those in the spirit world between his death and resurrection. (D&C 138:29-31) He couldn't go among those who chose to be wicked and disobedient because, unlike when he was in the flesh, he couldn't not be among them in his perfected and holy state. However, "from among the righteous, he organized his forces and appointed messengers, clothed with power and authority, and commissioned them to go forth and carry the light of the gospel to them that were in darkness, even to all the spirits of men; and thus was the gospel preached to the dead. 31 And the chosen messengers went forth... to proclaim liberty to the captives who were bound, even unto all who would repent of their sins and receive the gospel."

I felt especially close to the Savior, and those whom he has appointed to do the same work we are doing here, on the other side of the veil. We are ALL a part of this work, whether you wear a tag or not. Do you understand the role you play as the Salt of the Earth?

Well... I messed my ankle up playing gator ball. Shhh, don't tell the mission nurse. Luckily one of my good friends in the YSA is a med student, he's helping me take care of it. Makes biking a bit painful, but all is well!

I love ya'll! Hope you have a great week. Tell my siblings I'm still alive, and their day of reckoning is at hand!
(write me you fools)

Ok love you!
Teirs
